Storm Damage
Serving Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Surrounding Areas
Storms can cause significant damage to trees and can threaten your premises and your security. Damaged trees need professional assessment and might have to be eliminated by experienced arborists to guarantee the safety of your residential home or commercial property.
A hazard tree is any tree that would cause damage to a person or property if it falls. Since many hazard trees are close to a house or building, proper tree removal equipment is essential to safely and successfully remove hazard trees, and Central MN Tree Service will bring the needed equipment to safely complete the hazard tree removal.
Storm Damage & Emergency Tree Service
A tree fell on my property (or is leaning dangerously) — what should I do first?
Get everyone away from the tree and any downed power lines, and call us right away. If a tree is touching a power line, don't approach it — call Xcel Energy or your local utility immediately, then call us. We offer emergency response throughout the Twin Cities metro for storm-damaged trees, and we'll assess whether the situation is stable enough to wait or needs immediate action.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency storm response?
Yes, we offer emergency storm services due to straight-line winds, ice storms, and summer thunderstorms. We prioritize emergency calls involving trees on homes, vehicles, driveways, or power lines.
Is a leaning tree always an emergency?
Not always, but it should always be evaluated. A tree that has recently started leaning, especially after a storm, may have compromised or broken roots even if it looks structurally fine above ground. We recommend a professional assessment rather than waiting to see what happens. We offer free estimates so give us a call to assess your situation.
Will my homeowner's insurance cover storm-damaged tree removal?
In most cases, if a tree falls on an insured structure (your home, garage, fence) or blocks a driveway, your homeowner's policy will cover removal, at least in part. If a tree falls in your yard without damaging anything, it's often not covered. We provide detailed, itemized estimates and documentation (photos, written scope of work) that you can submit directly to your insurance adjuster, and we're happy to work directly with your insurance company if needed.
Can you help with the insurance claims process?
We can't file the claim for you, but we document the damage thoroughly, provide a professional written estimate, and can speak with your adjuster to clarify the scope of work. Many of our storm-damage customers tell us this makes the claims process much smoother.
How quickly can you get to my property after a storm?
Response time depends on storm severity and call volume, but we prioritize hazardous situations (trees on structures, blocking roads, or entangled in power lines) first. During major storm events across the metro, we recommend calling as soon as it's safe to do so to get on our schedule.
